This operates great, if you can get it to work. I went through 3 of them before I was able to find one that worked - Even did an RMA on one. Finally, got one that worked - and still works. Each time I got a new one, I followed the setup instructions, whiched worked fine. After a short time the camera would lock-up and not respond. Tech support was great, but had the same problem. Kept trying new units and finally got one to work. This is a great bargin for the money - if it works.

This product was much better yesterday (4-14-09) when the price on Amazon.Com was $67.96 (guess they figure we all have big tax refund coming). Price jump of $40.00? If you want it, buy it from TigerDirect.Com or CompUSA.Com where the price doesn't go up 40% overnight!

This successfully replaced an old USB webcam and allowed me go green by turning off a PC that interfaced the old USB webcam.
It took me a couple evenings to get the TRENDnet to work properly but it was a good challenge since the outcome is fantastic.
I installed zoneminder on ubuntu 9.04 on VMWARE ESXi4 on a Quad Dell 520 Desktop Inspiron. No suprises and the webcam works great!!!
The ESXi4 install is being used to clean up my office of numerous power consuming computers.
Buy the TRENDnet and enjoy it!

IF YOU ARE INTERESTING TO GET A 24 HR CAMERA THIS IS THE WRONG ON, YOU NEED TO BUY THE DAY AND NIGHT.THE PICTURE I HAVE IN MY iPHONE IS PERFECT BUT STILL YOU WILL HAVE A 5 SECONDS DELAY UNFORTUNATELY IS NOT A 100% REAL TIME, BUT IN MY COMPUTER IT IS A 100% REAL TIME.
AFTER ALL WAS A GREAT DEAL AND IT WORKS GREAT

...but I guess neither are their customer support "experts." To make a long story short, after finally getting a hold of someone that spoke english, I was told to call ATT and then call them back. After calling back with ATT's instructions and still not getting any results, I was finally told by these "extremely helpful" individuals that "oh yeah" if you have an ATT (2wire) modem and you cannot get a static IP address from them then you are basically out of luck. I would have to purchase a static IP address from ATT if they would sell me one (which he doubted they would). Considering that not many people have ATT DSL lines (yes, I am being sarcastic) that should not be a problem and they obviously don't see a need to warn consumers. If you want to lose your shipping charges and waste three hours of your life go for it and buy the camera. P.S. If you have a case number assigned, such as when you call back a second time, be prepared to wait much longer for assistance.
